Jordan Chin

Jordan Chin is a Miami born producer, DJ, and musician who began his music career in his middle school band playing the French Horn. He later began playing percussion in The High School Marching and Jazz Band where he flourished musically and would go on to play at a professional level with the Miami Dolphins Drumline and many other professional organizations throughout South Florida and abroad, including the Miami Heat Street Band. At the age of 17, he started composing music, influenced by many Hip-Hop and Jazz artists including “Kanye West”, “Herbie Hancock”, “9th Wonder” “Chick Corea” and many more. This combination of Jazz and Hip-Hop is the foundation behind his music today. After obtaining his degree in music performance he interned at CT Music Studios sharpening his ear for engineering. He now performs with serval local bands at a variety of venues.

Jordan first met Travis as fellow bandmates in the Miami Heat Street Band where their friendship and musical chemistry would flourish to lead them to play in countless performances with many different groups.

Asahni Dawkins

Asahni Dawkins was born in New Rochelle, New York. Asahni is a pianist, composer, and bandleader. He received his education at Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in music and continues to educate himself on various musical genres.


Asahni currently plays for the “Irie Vibes Trio” and the New Orleans style band “Soul of Brass” where he met and became good friends with Travis Quinn. He also works with other musicians on a variety of projects as well as studio work.


Through the “Travis Quinn Young Musicians Foundation”, Asahni Dawkins has taken the mantle of Travis Quinn by serving on the foundation board and being a vital part in serving to provide for young aspiring musicians.

Waldron Dunkley

Waldron E. Dunkley II, is a musical performer, talented arranger, and multi-faceted instrumentalist. Being of Bahamian and Jamaican descent, Waldron grew up in the sunshine state of Florida. At the early age of 10, he developed an interest in playing trombone while at Scott Lakes Elementary School. Waldron attended Broward College, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and Finished his studies most recently at Florida State University (FSU) where he achieved his bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music Performance. Waldron met Travis Quinn while performing with the African Heritage Cultural Arts Community Symphony Orchestra in 2006. They have been friends ever since. Waldron also called on Travis during the development of the “Soul of Brass” brass band.

Waldron also became a part of the Epsilon lota Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity while in college. He served the community by singing and performing concerts in senior living facilities. As a well-known freelancer, his repertoire consists of jazz combos, reggae and soca bands, Junkanoo, small chamber ensembles, R&B and soul performances, brass bands, and church gospel. As an artist that plays multiple instruments, Waldron performs on trombone, vocals, trumpet, tuba, and piano. Waldron is currently the President and co-founder of the “Travis Quinn Young Musicians Foundation” because of his devotion to inspiring and financially assisting young beginner/intermediate players just as Travis was able to in the community.

Charles Gerundo

Charles Gerundo is from Westchester County, near New York City who is an owner/operator of a pest control business in NY. Charles took over 25 years off from playing the trombone to focus on his business and family and resumed his enjoyment of playing after moving to South Florida in 2014. He began playing in local bands in Broward County where he would meet Travis who introduced himself to Charles at a rehearsal for the "Souls of Brass" band, coordinated by Waldron Dunkley.


Travis and Charles became good friends and Travis often visited Charles's home to play music and enjoy their friendship. Charles will always remember Travis as the special person he was and how he always strived to help others. It is important to Charles and the staff to memorialize Travis's life by paying it forward to young musicians and honor his memory.


Christian Ruiz

Born and raised in Broward County, Christian developed a passion for music at the age of 11 when he first touched a trumpet. Attending Piper High School, he was able to develop as a young musician and received a full scholarship to Bethune Cookman University. Although he did not attend, he was inspired by the traditional showband style and decided to join the Miami Heat Street Band after High School where he met Travis Quinn. Travis became a friend and mentor to him for a large portion of his musical career. Travis provided many opportunities for him to grow and mature as a professional musician and wants to pave the way for young musicians as Travis once did for him. Through the love of music, Christian was able to be featured in music videos, commercials, and now performs with top 40’s, R&B/Soul, Jazz, Wedding, and New Orleans style brass bands throughout South Florida. Aside from performing, he is a part-owner of a recording studio in Hollywood, Florida.
